Effective ways to become a better Web Designer

As we know, typical web designers create web pages using hypertext or hyper media and renders it on different browsers.

But now, as the web is constantly changing. Contents created by web designers can be access in many ways through different rendering clients such as browsers, screen readers, mobile devices, rss feeder, printer and so much more.

In addition to it, functionality has greatly improved. Viewers can choose to adjust the size of text on the layout, or replace the font entirely if they prefer something else.

As a result, web designer must encompass the wide discipline of web design.

Web Designer should have a solid understanding on how the web works, who you are trying to reach, and what technologies are involved in creating website.

You must understand how to properly structure a site. It doesn't require to learn everything before starting web design but focus on the area you are strong then grow from there and learn new things one at a time. Also, don't get stuck on one or two technologies. Focus on Planning, Structuring a site, User-interface design, and Client-side interactivity. Never neglect to learn the fundamentals such as html, css and ever growing web standards.

When creating websites, make sure there is a balance between visual design and things like page loading speed, usability, accessibility and consistent user experience.

Designers should also know how presentation is controlled on the web, how to maximize readability of content, and how standards and design patterns had evolved for certain types of website. Learning designing on the web is just as important as learning how to design effectively for print.

Lastly, make sure to satisfy both the client and the end-user.
